Staff Picks | I'm Glad My Mom Died

April 11, 2024 Clare Brooks

For this week's staff pick we're circling back to a previous pick, this time as a double staff pick. It's an especially important and relevant read, given the release of the docuseries 'Quiet on the Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV'.

“I enjoyed that Jennette Mccurdy was not afraid to be completely honest in her debut memoir. Not only does she shed light on the abuse she received from her mother, but she also talks about how toxic show business can be for child actors. It brings you on a roller coaster ride of emotions and is a book you won’t want to put down.” - Teya

"It's shocking to hear about the abuse she endured from those that are closest to her. Her book gives insight into the dark side of the industry in a way that's honest, intriguing, and occasionally difficult to read." - Tristan
