"A Clean Home Leads to a Clear Mind."

March 7, 2024 Clare Brooks

"I've always had a tendency to collect random things. Things that could have a future purpose, things I think are cool, cute, fun, etc... I'd frequently find something and go, "oh wow I forgot I had this!" This book helped me realize that I don't need to hang onto every little item because it 'might' have a use in the future. By then I've probably forgotten about it and purchased another when the time came. It helped me de-clutter, be less impulsive, and keep a cleaner, more organized home. A clean home leads to a clear mind."

Are you prepared for the upcoming eclipse?

March 4, 2024 Clare Brooks

Are you prepared for the upcoming solar eclipse on April 8th? The next solar eclipse viewable from the U.S. won't happen for another 20 years and we're right along the path of totality with Lancaster experiencing nearly 100% totality, so exciting! Here's the timeline for Lancaster according to NASA:

Partial begins - 2:14 p.m. EDT
Totality Begins - 3:27 p.m. EDT
Maximum - 3:29 p.m. EDT
Totality Ends - 3:30 p.m. EDT
Partial Ends - 4:38 p.m. EDT

We've heard some folks say they'll view the eclipse with their phone camera. We don't recommend trying to view the eclipse via your phone's camera without a proper filter as it can fry your camera's sensors. For your safety and viewing pleasure, we have properly rated eclipse eyewear on display at all registers. Make sure to grab a pair before they're gone!

Penny Jar Proceeds March 2024

March 2, 2024 Clare Brooks

Our in-store penny jar donations for the month of March will be going to Sew Far North QOV!

The Quilts of Valor Foundation, established in 2003, has groups throughout the country and has awarded over 350,000 quilts. Our local not for profit Group, Sew Far North Quilts of Valor was formed in 2021. They've had 18 ceremonies and given 64 Quilts of Valor to area Veterans and active service members. They have 17 members that meet once a month at the Community Center, where they cut out and sew blocks that create a quilt top. The finished quilt top then goes to Sew Far North Quilting Studio @ 106 Main St Littleton. Andrea, the owner, sews 3 layers of the quilt, then they sew on the outside binding. The quilt then is washed, labeled and ready to be awarded at a ceremony for a Veteran or Active Service Member.

Your in-store donations will go towards purchasing fabric for the quilt tops, batting (for the insulating layer), and backing for the back layer of the quilt. Each quilt is a work of art and they are incredibly happy to be able to honor our Military neighbors with these Quilts of Valor!
