Stacey - Manager/Book Buyer
Stacey grew up an avid reader, her favorite book being the poetry collection, Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein. "It's my go-to recommendation for gift giving," she says. As for which book character she likens herself to in real life, Stacey recalls reading Corduroy to her then three-year-old son. "As we finished," notes Stacey, "he hugged me and said, 'I'll be your Corduroy.' I would freeze time and be Lisa forever to hold onto that moment."
While reading, Stacey enjoys the quiet comforts of home, especially if the chores could magically do themselves. She loves when her cat, Coco, joins her, as she's a wonderful snuggler and patiently puts up with the enthusiastic love of Stacey's daughter.
If Stacey were a book genre, she'd fall in the memoir category- very similar to the wit and wisdom of Tina Fey, Mindy Kaling, and Jenny Lawson. She notes, "It always feels good to laugh and know that other women have encountered the problems of growing up and succeeding despite them.
In a perfect world, Stacey also makes time for cooking, yoga, and exploring museums. In reality, however, she spends most of her free time sharing her love of reading with her children.

Having seen how much love and comfort they provide my daughter, the plush animals are my favorites.
What makes you a qualified Village Toy & Book Shop employee?
I have been working with books in some fashion since 1992. Reading is a life-long passion and there is nothing better than sharing that joy with others.
What is your favorite thing about working at the Book Shop?
I am quite fortunate to work with someone whom I respect immensely. Clare and I share the same vision of creating a special place for all the children who walk through our doors.
